Samara Glazer, Co-Founder, Girls Program

Samara co-founded NYE’s girls’ basketball and mentorship program and is a student at McMaster University. She grew up playing basketball at the provincial level and is a two-time provincial champion and NCCP-certified coach. She leads program development, partnerships, grant writing, and coaching for the girls’ program, helping create opportunities and remove barriers for girls in the Jane & Finch community.

Damian Hughes, Founder

Damian is the founder of NYE and a dedicated coach and community leader. He earned a Division I NCAA college offer, bringing extensive playing and coaching experience to NYE. Damian is a trusted mentor and youth leader in the Jane & Finch community, and is a role model the youth can look up to. He leads the basketball and training sessions, helping girls develop their skills and unlock their potential.
